Mattie Shuford

Funeral services for Mattie R. Shuford, 89, of Moffat, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nancy Reeves officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Mrs. Shuford died Monday, March 23, 2015 in a Temple hospital. Mrs. Shuford was born September 10, 1925, in Port Gibson, Mississippi, the daughter of Luke S. Bufkin and Mattie L. Thornton Bufkin. She moved to Morgan's Point Resort in 1975 and recently moved to Moffat. She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip F. Shuford, Jr. February 23, 1984. Survivors include one son Phillip M. Shuford of Moffat; two daughters Mattie E. DeWeese and husband Jeff of Elgin and Phyllis J. Glover of Moffat; two grandchildren Christina Arroyo and husband Robert and Randy Seidl and wife Susan; five great-grandchildren Chasity Harlan, Chris Harlan, Gaylyn Keener, Rance Seidl, Katlynn Seidl; one great-great-grandchild Gabriel Harlan.
