Rob Owens

Graveside services for Rob Owens, 95, of Belton, will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, May 1, 2015, at the North Belton Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Mercer officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Owens died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Owens was born October 5, 1919 in Belton, the son of Charles Oscar Owens and Willie (Sandlin) Owens. He married LaVerne Sutton October 1, 1938 in Belton. Mr. Owens was a farmer for many years until retiring. In retirement he joined his wife in working at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in housekeeping. He was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in November 1989. Survivors include his son Riley Owens and his wife Carolyn of Little River-Academy and daughter Robbie Owens Arp and her husband Frank of Montgomery; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
