Memorial services for Rachael A. Clark, 95, of Belton, will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center, 5602 Highway 317 North, Belton, Texas 76513. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery and Prayer Gardens, 330 Berry Lane, Georgetown, Texas 78626. Mrs. Clark was born February 19, 1920 in Turton, South Dakota, the third of eleven children to Ivan and Anna (La Brie) Blanchette. Rachael was in the Army Nurse Corps, serving during World War II in the European Theater. After the war, Rachael became Operating Room supervisor at the VA Hospital in Temple, Texas. She married Elmer (Elmo) Clark, MD, January 9, 1949. The couple raised their family in Cleburne, Texas and later returned to Belton, Texas in 1975. She is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton. Rachael was preceded in death by her husband in April 2015; one son, Steven Louis Clark; one granddaughter, Amy Shields; and all her brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters; Ann Daniel and husband William of Cleburne, Texas and Mary Shields and husband Jimmy Shields of Georgetown, Texas; son, Tom Clark and wife Linda of Midlothian, Texas; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jacqueline Clark of Cleburne, Texas; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center, PO Box 58, Belton, Texas 76513 or charity of choice.
