Alice O. Pope

Funeral services for Alice O. Pope, 89, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darren Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service, from 9-10 AM Thursday. Mrs. Pope died Sunday, May 31, 2015 in a Temple hospital. Mrs. Pope was born January 17, 1926 in Trenton, New Jersey. She married Elwood Pope in 1946 in Trenton. They moved to South Texas, McAllen, in 1969. Mrs. Pope worked for the Highway Department in both New Jersey and Texas. After retiring she moved to Belton. She was a member of the Newcomers Club and enjoyed being part of the Canasta Group. She attend the First United Methodist Church in Belton. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973. Survivors include one son Greg Pope and wife Lisa of Belton and daughter Sharon Moore and husband Steve of College Station. Six grandchildren. Erin Moore, Sam Moore, Dillon Moore, McLean Moore, Bryan Pope and Kyle Pope; three great grandchildren Jackson, Jordan and Maddi. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors or the charity of your choice.
