Ovella Phillips, 95 of Belton was born January 2, 1920 in Hugh Oklahoma to Web Hugh and Flora Raborn. She moved to Texas soon after, where she met and then married J. T. Dunn in 1939. They had two daughters. After J. T.'s death in 1950, she met and married Leland Phillips on June 18, 1952. The family resided at Phillips Mill, now Summers Mill Retreat and Conference Center. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to quilt and quilted for the public at the Belton Senior Center for 25 years. She loved to fish, dance and travel. Ovella was preceded in death by her husbands, J. T. Dunn and Leland Phillips; brothers Bonnie, Virgil, Walter and Delbert Raborn; and sisters Lorene Milligan and Ophelia Neal. Survivors include her daughters, Flora Ray Dunn Turner of Sugarland, Patricia Dunn Jones and husband Bob of Sugarland, and stepdaughter Carolyn Wilson of Abilene and daughters Lynn Fitzgerald and Susan Watson; a sister, Violet Dunn Markle of Burnet; grandchildren, Brian Jones and wife Lisa and children Ashley, Daniel and Laurie; Steven Turner and wife Debbie and daughters Jennifer and Amy Noble and Michelle Teeters; and grandchildren, Jason and Kaitlyn; Leland Turner and wife Becky and children Trent and Olivia; and Ron Jones. Services will be held at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton on Thursday, July 16 at 10AM. Interment in North Belton Cemetery.
