Josef Carl Bozon, 88, died Monday morning September 7th at a local hospital. Joe was born on March 28th 1927 to Josef and Millie Kubola Bozon in Florence, Texas. He spent his youth in Jarrell,Texas. After graduating from Jarrell High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in China. Joe was a butcher and rancher. He owned Bozon's Quality Meat Market in Pasadena, Texas from 1963 to 1973. He then moved to Salado, Texas in 1974 to begin his farming and ranching activities. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, La Fay Bozon of Salado Texas; two daughters, Linda Wells Bonnin and her husband Larry, of Seabrook; Jo Ann Preston of Salado; and a son, Carl Bozon and his wife Barbara of Belton. Six grandchildren, Jana Maksymowski and husband Aaron, Russ Florey and wife Fe, Adam Florey and wife Misty, Brandon Bozon and wife Jessica, Brianna Bozon and Shane Bonnin and wife Staci; along with ten great-grandchildren. During his farming and ranching days, he served on the Salado Water Corporation Board and the ASCS Community Advisory Board. He was a Lutheran and a member of First Lutheran Church in Temple, where he loved to sing in the choir. Joe was a man who loved people, loved his family and enjoyed life. He was always quick to tell an interesting story or share a good joke. Joe met everyone with a welcoming smile and a firm handshake. He was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by all. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday morning September 11th at First Lutheran Church in Temple, Texas located at 1515 West Adams with Pastors Pat Dietrich and Bobby Vitek officiating. A short graveside service will also be held at 2:00 pm at Salado Cemetery in Salado, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday night September 10th at Dossman Funeral Home located at 2525 North Main Street in Belton from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
