T. R. "Tuff" Hood

Funeral services for T. R. Tuff" Hood, 87, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Danny Brey officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville. The family will receive friends for visitation 5:00 - 7:00 PM Saturday, Sept 12, 2015 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Hood was born in Topsey, the son of George Monroe and Mary Josephine (Whitehead) Hood. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He married Velma Burks January 24, 1949, in Belton. They lived in central Texas, west Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. They relocated to Texas after retirement. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas for over 30 years. He was a member of Soldiers of the Cross Cowboy Church. Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Velma Hood, July 31, 2011, also by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include two brothers, F N Hood of Harker Heights and Billy J. Hood of Florence and numerous nieces and nephews.
