David Means Utley

DAVID MEANS UTLEY of Belton passed away September 18, 2015 at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. He was born in Belton, Texas July 29, 1951 to Frances and Kelley Utley, Jr. He graduated from Belton High School in 1969. After graduation David served in the National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Ola Mae Cook and Victor Means and Clara Franklin and Kelly Utley, Sr. He is survived by his brother and wife Bob and Ann Utley and sister and husband Margaret Utley and Larry Wright. He is survived by niece Wendy Wright, nephew and wife Steve and Melissa Utley and nephew and wife Brian and Beth Utley. He is also survived by seven great nephews and nieces, who loved him dearly, Jake, Luke, Abbey, Hannah, Emma, Meg and Kate Utley. David was a rancher and loved the outdoors. His favorite hobbies were traveling, hunting, fishing and researching values in art, property and structures. He was very well versed. He found great pride and joy in creating amazing recipes for family and friends. His great nieces and nephews often called him to prepare a home-cooked meal for them. He will be sorely missed by all. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 25th, at 11:00 a.m. at Dossman Funeral Home, 2525 North Main, Belton, Texas 76513, (254) 933-2525, with Dan Kirkley officiating, following a private family burial.
