James Newberry

Funeral services for James Newberry, 93, of Belton, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Belton Church of Christ with Minister Jordan Hubbard and Eugene Greer officiating. A family graveside burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Newberry died Tuesday October 13, 2015 in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Newberry was born in Belton, July 16, 1922, the son of Joe H. Newberry and Vivian (James) Newberry. He married Marjorie M. Cearley October 11, 1942 in Belton. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Europe. He was career military, retiring from the Army National Guard as Master Sergeant after 38 years of service. He was a life long member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Marjorie Newberry of Belton, son Jerry Newberry and wife Teri of Chamberburg, Pennsylvania; three daughters Dee Donnelly and husband Ron of Belton, Linda Walker and husband A. J. of Belton and Patricia Martin of Belton; 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Home for Children P. O.
