Fayne Alton Mullen, 93, of Belton and formerly of Granbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Temple , Texas .

Services for Mr. Mullen will be held at a later date in Granbury , Texas .

Fayne was born on September 3, 1922 in Taylor , Texas to Glenn and Norelle ( Reno ) Mullen. He married Christine York on December 8, 1945 in Dallas , Texas and they were married for over 70 years before his passing. Fayne enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during WW II. After leaving the Marines, Mr. Mullen worked as an insurance agent, and after selling his agency founded “Caps ‘N Jackets”, a family owned business that he owned and operated until he was in his 90’s. Even after turning 90, he would often make trips from Granbury to Lampasas to deliver hats to auto dealerships in the area.

Fayne was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife Christine, daughter Kandice “Kandy ” Kirkley of Belton, son Andrew “Andy” Mullen of Midland , daughter Carrie Shipp of Granbury, and son Tim Mullen of Euless .
