Linard Logan Peschel (Buddy), 85, peacefully passed away following a struggle with dementia
and complications with severe pneumonia on January 23, 2016 in Belton, Texas. He was
born on August 19,1930 in Granger, Texas to Adolph and Dora Peschel. He married Nellie Burks in
1949 in Belton, and they remained married for 66 years. Together they had four children:
Linnell Taylor and husband, Bill Taylor (Houston); Beverly Fleming and husband, Jerry Fleming;
(Belton); Lisa Thomas and husband, Kelly Thomas (El Campo); and David Peschel (Corpus Christi).
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by eight grandchildren: Ryan Taylor, Lindsey Blair,
Michael Zernial, Trent Wagnon, Jenna Wagnon, Justin Peschel, Jacob Peschel, and Josh Peschel.
He also had seven great grandchildren: Ari Sprague, Emma Sprague, Lyric Taylor, Elektra Taylor, Lauren Blair,
Parker Wagnon, and Justin Junior (JJ) Peschel. He is also survived by his sister, La Fay Bozon, brother, Harold
Peschel, and is preceded in death by his sister, Janet Vitek, and both of his parents. He also leaves behind a
host of nieces, nephews, sons in law, and many friends and loved ones.
He was a faithful member of Taylor ’ s Valley Baptist Church, and served as a deacon at
Miller Heights Baptist Church for many years. He was also a member of the Belton
Rotary Club.
He was self-employed most of his life. He owned Bell County Wrecking.
He managed a car wash, worked selling real estate, built and sold homes, sold automobiles, and
in his younger years, he was an airplane mechanic in the US Air Force. He knew the value of hard
work and making provisions for his wife and children.
He enjoyed walking, dinner with friends, going on cruises, taking road trips
with his family, playing dominoes, and telling a joke with a bit of dry humor!
Visitation service will be at Dossman Funeral Home from 12:30 P.M. till 1:30 P.M on Saturday, January 30th. The funeral
service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Larry Givens of Taylor ’ s Valley Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer ’ s Association. He will be greatly missed,
but this we know … “ Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants. ” Psalm 116:15
