Funeral services for Charles T. Speed, III, 74, of Temple will be held Thursday Feb. 25, 2016 at Belton Nazarene Church with Rev. Mark Tipton officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Mr. Speed passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at a local hospital.

He was born June 18, 1941, in Temple, Texas, the son of Dr. Terrell Speed and Merle (Wyndelts) Speed. He married Jeanne Speed on December 7, 2002 at the VA Chapel in Temple, Texas.

After graduating from Temple High School, Charles attended The University of Texas at Austin and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Speed of Temple; three sons, John Speed and wife Dena of Clear Lake City, Texas, James Speed and wife Melody of Cypress, Texas, and Jeffrey Speed of College Station, Texas; three step daughters, Pamela J. Flowers and husband Ken, Sharon L. Sapp and husband Michael, and Janese L. Baugh and husband Bruce; a sister Sue Berry of Austin, Texas; a cousin, Elaine Robicheaux of Austin, Texas; two nieces Amy Dozier of Kerrville, Texas and Sally Clayton of San Luis Obispo, CA and four grandchildren, Allison Speed, April Speed, Holly Speed, and Lauren Speed all of Cypress, Texas.

V isitation will be held Wednesday Feb. 24, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
