Dorothy Avis Trute

Dorothy Avis Trute, 77, of Belton passed away at her home on Saturday, March 12, 2016.

Funeral services for Mrs. Trute will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rick Lasley officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

Dorothy was born on March 27, 1938 in Bell County to Jasper and Laura (Britton) Bilbrey. She lived in the Belton area most of her life and worked as a waitress at Betty’s Diner and at Frank’s Lakeview Inn until retirement. Dorothy married Lennard Trute on June 18, 1991 in Navasota, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Margie Mitchell and Barbara Akey, and a son, Jimmie Lynn Ward.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Lennard Trute of Belton, a son Billy Joe Ward, brothers Johnny Bilbrey and Sonny Bilbrey, sister Ruth Camden, four grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
