Janie Hernandez

Funeral services for Janie Hernandez, 73, of Belton, will be held at 11:00 AM , Friday, May 6, 2016 , at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Self officiating. Burial will follow at the Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple .

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Hernandez died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in a Temple hospital.

Mrs. Hernandez was born May 10, 1943 , in Falls County , the daughter of Albert Wesley Powell and Gladys Williams Powell. She married Raymond Hernandez June 1, 1962 in Belton. She retired from Mobil Chemical before working for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department until retirement August 31, 2010 .

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Hernandez in 2001, one grandson Randy Tabors, and brother Weldon Powell.

Survivors include one son Raymond (Ron) Hernandez, Jr. of Rowlett, three daughters Rhonda Shepherd Of Gatesville, Shelia Hernandez of Belton and Tina Gray of Davilla; one brother Dean Powell of Waco; four sisters Mardell Ribitzki of Ft. Worth, Joann Barrett of Cameron, Wanda Borden of Rosebud and Debbie Eckerman of Rosebud; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and her beloved dog, TuTu.
