Terry Dean Valdick

Funeral services for Terry Dean Valdick, 65, of Belton, will be held at 6:00 PM Friday evening at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 prior to the service at 6 PM .

Mr. Valdick died Sunday, May 29, 2016 in the Temple Veterans Administration hospital.

Mr. Valdick was born August 11, 1950 , in Frankfurt , Michigan , the son of Floyd Lyman Valdick and Irma Mae Fookes. He was a graduate of Grayling High School and served in the United States Army from 1969 -1971. He received his Associates degree in Aviation Mechanics from Kirtland Community College . He married Kathleen Maxwell (Bunker) December 10, 1983 in Grayling, Michigan .

He worked for several companies including Bear Archery, Meyer’s Boat Company in Michigan and Domore Office Furniture and ICF Leggett& Platt in Elkhart , Indiana . Early in 2003 Mr. Valdick received a double heart transplant. In 2005 he medically retired from working.

He moved to Belton in 2011. He attended Vista Community Church . He also enjoyed being a member of the Lake Belton VFW Post 10377.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Ann Wright.

Survivors include his wife Kathie Valdick of Belton, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law Amy and George Libby of Temple, Texas and Kari Lee and Andrew Elliott of Belton, Texas; brother-in-law Kenneth Wright of Grayling, Michigan and two grandchildren Kayla Libby and Ethan Libby.

Memorials may be made to the Lake Belton VFW Post 10377 or the Belton High School Tennis Team.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis , Indiana and specifically Dr. Mark Turrentine the transplant surgeon. Also to the Temple Veterans Administration Hospital ICU Unit.
