Margaret K. Mcgee

Margaret Katherine (Phillips) McGee, 95, of Belton passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in a Harker Heights nursing home.

Funeral services for Mrs. McGee will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Bob Beasley officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.

Margaret was born on February 4, 1921 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma to Edgar and Ethel (Blair) Phillips. She grew up in Oklahoma as a member of a farming family and continued working as a farmer the majority of her life, moving to the Central Texas area in 1981. Mrs. McGee married Raymond Carter in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1964. She married Wayne Umbach in 1965 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Margaret married Earnest Lee McGee in 1986 and he passed away in 2009. She attended Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton.

Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by a son, Phil Carter, and two daughters Margie Renfrow and Nancy Harbitz. Survivors include her sons William Carter and Gerald Carter, daughter Mary Yousefi, sister Mary McCoy, as well as twelve grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5-7 PM at Dossman Funeral Home.
