Services for Connie Elaine Minnick, 60 of Rosebud will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Mrs. Minnick died Friday Sept. 16, at her residence.
She was born August 20, 1956 to Kenneth and Sandra Steger in Texarkana , Tx . She lived in the Temple area for over 40 years.
She was the Executive Director of the Temple Community Free Clinic for the first 21 years of its existence. She worked long hours helping to find funding and doctors and nurses to volunteer to help the people of Temple that work but can't afford insurance, get the health care they need. She loved her job at TCFC and was very proud of the work she did there.
Before working at TCFC, Connie got her start in non profit fund raising by working for the Blue Bonnet Girl Scout Council in Waco as the Fund Development Director and then the Assistant Executive Director, another job that Connie put her heart and soul into.
She was a member of Temple Elks Lodge #138.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Minnick; her parents Kenneth and Sandra Steger; a daughter, Kendra Williams and husband Marty of Gatesville; a son, Paul Thurman Jr. and wife Chesca of Westphalia; Step son Clayton Minnick and wife Tamreil of Rosebud; step son Thomas Joseph Minnick and wife Stephanie of Round Rock; step daughter Krystie Sandoval and JJ of Belton. Also surviving are two brothers; Kenneth Steger Jr. of Morgans Point and Gary Kevin Steger of Wimberly.
Grandchildren, Mikayla, Marlee, Kenneth Lane , Logan , Jaxen, Dixie , Taylor , Colby, Conner, Casey, Conner, AJ, Jesus, and Ethan.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
