Barbara Ann (Thompson) Lane, 83, of Moody passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 in Moody.

A funeral service for Mrs. Lane will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel in Belton with Brother Ridge Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Moffat Cemetery in Moffat.

Barbara was born on August 12, 1933 in Cedar Creek , Texas to Lois and Minnie Etta (Richards) Thompson. She moved to Moody and attended Troy schools, graduating from Troy High School in 1951. Mrs. Lane married James F. Lane in 1950 and they were married for 56 years before he passed away in 2006. Barbara worked for Western Auto in Temple and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, brothers Roy Thompson and William Thompson, and sister Mattie Thompson.

Barbara is survived by her son James Lane of Moody, daughter Debra Cook of Quinlan, Texas, brothers Mitchell Thompson of Belton, Harold Thompson of Temple, and Earl Thompson of Troy, sisters Dorothy Butler of Belton, Margaret Allman of Moffat, Neecie Campbell of Temple, Mary Thomason of Temple, and Shirley Vibiral of Moody, as well as 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
