Elsie York

Elsie York, 98, of Temple and formerly of Belton passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 in Temple. A graveside service for Ms. York will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 10:30am at North Belton Cemetery in Belton with Bruce Mercer officiating.

Elsie was born on October 15, 1917 in Nolan Valley in Bell County to Harlie and Maggie (Sandlin) York. She attended Belton schools and graduated from Belton High School in 1935. Ms. York attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton. She worked for Cochran Blair & Potts in Belton as a bookkeeper for over 60 years before retiring. Ms. York was a member of the First Christian Church in Belton for 94 years.

Ms. York is survived by a sister, Margie Hannon of Belton; a nephew, Mark Schuebel of Noblesville, Indiana; and a niece, Cathy (Schuebel) Sides of San Antonio.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9 from 4-6pm at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
