Dorothy Smith

Dorothy Marie (Varner) Smith, 87, of Belton and formerly of Salado passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Belton.

A graveside service for Mrs. Smith will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton with Rev. Roy Smith officiating.

Dorothy was born on January 5, 1929 in Tichnor, Arkansas to Frank and Katheryn  (Purcell) Varner. She graduated from Dewitt High School in Dewitt,Arkansas. Mrs. Smith married James B. Smith on August 25, 1978 in Little Rock, Arkansas and they were married until he passed away in 2012.  She and Mr. Smith moved to Salado, Texas in 1982.  Dorothy worked as a bank teller in Arkansas and was a homemaker after she moved to Texas.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by a daughter Sandra Calva of Belton and a grandson Sean Noell of Ft. Worth.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
