Roy Loyd Darden

Roy Loyd Darden, 87, of Belton passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Belton.

Funeral services for Roy will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel in Belton with Dr. Leroy Kemp officiating. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery .

Mr. Darden was born on February 7, 1929 in Belton , Texas to Walter and Emma (Parker) Darden and was a lifelong Belton resident. He married Clara Bassel on February 23, 1951 in Belton , Texas . Mr. Darden served in the US Army and later worked for Civil Service at Ft. Hood until his retirement in 1981. Roy was also a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Belton.

Mr. Darden was preceded in death by his wife Clara in 2007. He is survived by sons Roy B. Darden of Rosebud, Texas and Andy Darden of Temple, Texas, daughter Betsy Darden-Wright of Temple, sisters Marietta Mesecke of Temple, Texas and Joan Shepperd of Belton, Texas, as well as 10 grandchildren, Josh Darden, Abraham Darden, Hannah Polk, Luke Darden, Carl Darden, Destiny Davis, Brittany Davis, Joshua Wellman, Heather Brinzo, and Amanda Wellman. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren, Christian Darden, Shelby Darden, Grant Darden, Callie Polk, Lara Booth, Maddyson Wellman, and Eathan Silda.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
