Hildegard "Hilde" Nichols

Memorial services for Hildegard “Hilde” Nichols, 85, of Belton, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2016 , at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Nichols died December 2, 2016 in Temple, Texas.

Mrs. Nichols was born May 30, 1931 in Augsburg, Bavaria, Ger many, the daughter of Sylvester and Magdelena Mohrenweiser.  She married John R. Nichols in Augsburg Germany.  Mrs. Nichols came to the United States in 1953. She was very happy to be a War Bride and proud to become a US citizen. Her greatest joy was being a housewife and mother.  She also enjoyed being a member of the Texas German Society- Blackland Chapter and served as secretary/treasurer from 2001-2011.  She was also a member of the Central Texas Sportsman Club serving as secretary/treasurer and a board member.

Mrs. Nichols is preceded in death by her husband John R. Nichols, October 22, 1988.

Survivors include her long time companion A. Carl Blanchard of Temple; son John W. Nichols of Temple, daughters Jeanie Yarnell, Michelle Cantu and Raini Painter all of Belton; and three step children, Ginger Yakey, Kenneth Nichols, and John R. Nichols, Jr.; a sister Marianne Frazier of Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all.
