Carl Drake

Carl Drake, 75, of Belton passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Temple.

Funeral services for Mr. Drake will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel with Pastors Tommy Davis, Jerry Wickwire, and Mike Sapp officiating. Burial will follow at Pendleton Cemetery in Pendleton, Texas.

Carl was born on March 17, 1941 in Temple, Texas to Tommy and Eula (Bishop) Drake. He attended schools in Belton . He joined the Army in 1961. After the military, Mr. Drake joined the Temple Fire Department and worked for 23 years before retiring. After retiring from Temple, he joined the Ft. Hood Fire Department with the Civil Service and worked there for 20 years before retiring again in 2002, serving for 43 years total. He married Catherine Howard in 1985 in Lampasas, Texas and they were married for almost 32 years. Mr. Drake was a member of the Belton Nazarene Church in Belton for many years.

Carl was preceded in death by a son Eddy Ray Janes. He is survived by his wife Catherine of Belton, son Nelson Drake and his wife Tonya of Rogers, daughters Loretta Drake of Waco and Kathy Hobday of Kempner, eight grandchildren, Lorissa Drake, Christopher Janes, Carl Chance Drake, Layton Barabas, Chase Drake, Cayleigh Ripley, Everett Cruz, and Hayden Hobday. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Natalie, Aubrey, Kole, Kelsey, Kacie, and Kimberly.

A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
