Wallace P. Williams

Wallace P. Williams, 95, of Temple passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Temple Meridian.

He was born in Urbanna, Virginia on June 17, 1921, to Carroll Luther Williams and Ora Helen (Shackelford) Williams.  He was a graduate of Cape Charles High School, The University of Virginia and Smithdeal-Massey Law School.  He served in the U. S. Navy as a corpsman during World War II.   He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Downes to whom he was married for 70 years.
He joined the Travelers Insurance Co. where he continued his career and retired as a divisional manager in Houston.
Wally loved Astros Baseball and traveling. He and Betty spent many wonderful years traveling the world and taking cruises after his retirement.
He was a member of Church of the Epiphany in Houston where he and Betty were founding members.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Temple, son Wallace Blair Williams and wife Mary Jane of Belton, grandchildren Kelly Jane Thomas and husband Paul of Belton and Wallace Britt Williams and wife Seanna of Temple and five great grandchildren.   He is also survived by a brother John Lomenzo of Amarillo.
A private memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Temple where he will be interred.
Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements.
