Julie Elischer Spell, 96, of Salado and formerly of Harker Heights passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 in Belton.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel in Belton with Deacon Armando Aguirre officiating. Burial will follow in Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen.
Julie was born on July 11, 1920 in Czechoslovakia to Andres and Agnis (Zieger) Elischer. She grew up in Czechoslovakia and later moved to Germany. Mrs. Spell married James Spell on March 10, 1954 in Nuernberg, Germany and he preceded her in death in 1991. Julie moved to the Killeen area in 1980 where she was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Killeen. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always putting family first.
Survivors include her son James Spell and his wife Betty of Salado , two brothers Albert and Erich Elischer of Germany, sister Aggie of Florida, two grandchildren, Johnathan Spell and his wife Yvonne and James Spell, as well as two great grandchildren, Scarlett Spell and Savannah Spell.
The family would like to thank the staff at Luvida Memory Care in Belton and Scott and White Hospice for their care and support of Julie and family.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9-10 am at the funeral home.
