Dustin William Daugherty

August 13, 1979 — June 4, 2017

“Our hearts were overflowing with never-ending, immense love the second we laid eyes on you! Your beautiful round cheeks that were the targets of tons of kisses…your huge heart and gentle spirit that loved so deeply…your wit and sense of humor (which got you into trouble more than a few times)…your arms wrapped around us in love… We are so very grateful for ALL of the love, laughter, and tears etched in our memories and on our hearts that help lift and carry us through the times we ache for you. We thank God for every second He gave us with you.”

Dustin William Daugherty, 37, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from a tragic boating accident. He was the first of three children born to Henry and Teresa Daugherty. Dustin was born on August 13, 1979 in Taylor, Texas. He was raised in Little River-Academy and was a member of First Baptist Church Little River, where he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. Dustin graduated from Academy High School in May 1997 and later attended Temple Jr. College.

While in high school, Dustin met the love of his life, Rhonda White. They married in 2000 and were blessed with a baby girl, Kaylee Jo, in 2004. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with Kaylee Jo. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, watching UFC, and playing poker with his brother Will and their friends. Dustin worked for Daugherty Plumbing.

Dustin is survived by his parents, Henry and Teresa Daugherty of Moffat; daughter, Kaylee Jo Alexander of Academy; son, Bryson Vansa of Cameron; brother, Will Daugherty and his wife Kelly of Sparks; and, sister Amber Daugherty of San Antonio.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
