Elva Hawkins

Elva Hawkins entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

Elva was born on July 12, 1923 in Delcambre, Louisiana. She married Warren Hawkins in 1942. They lived in Nederland, Texas for their entire marriage. She moved to Belton after he passed away in 2000.

Elva enjoyed reading books, listening to music, and gardening. Later in life her favorite pastime was visits from her family and friends. Elva loved dogs and was always excited for an opportunity to pet and love on a furry friend.

Elva was preceded in death by her husband Warren, brother Elvest “Pee Wee” Segura, and son-in-law John Curylo. She is survived by her children, son Ray Hawkins and his wife Gracie of Brazil, son Ronald Hawkins and his wife Becky of Cypress, and daughter Rachel Gerik and her husband Tom of Temple; her sister Leona Wills of Houston; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Elva’s family would like to thank the staff of Park Place Manor for all of their comfort, love and care.

Elva’s family invites you to join as we celebrate her life at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, June 29. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 30. A burial will follow in Port Neches, Texas at 1pm on Saturday, July 1.
