Gary Robert Briggs

Gary Robert Briggs, 67, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Temple.

An inurnment service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Gary was born on October 28, 1949 in Long Beach, California to Arland and Virginia (Roberts) Briggs. Mr. Briggs was raised in Long Beach and graduated from Chino High School in Long Beach. Gary joined the Navy in 1967 and served until 1971. After the Navy. Mr. Briggs received his Associate's Degree from Citrus College in California. He worked for many years as a mechanic, and recently was employed with the Belton ISD. He married Mary McEntyre on August 25, 1972 in Las Vegas. He moved to Temple in 2011 and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple.

Gary is survived by his wife Mary of Temple, son Dustin Briggs of California, daughter Tonya Doran of Belton, brother Dino Briggs of Wyoming, sister Diana Baugh of Oregon, as well as seven grandchildren.
