James Leonard Craig, 67, of Belton passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at his home in Belton.
Funeral services for Mr. Craig will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel in Belton with Brother Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.
James was born on April 1, 1950 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Rube Leonard and Ozie (Splawn) Craig. He was raised in Mangum and graduated from Mangum High School in Oklahoma. Mr. Craig married Pamela Kelly in December of 1990. James worked for Georgetown Water Supply until he moved to Belton in 1993, where began working for Bluebonnet Water Supply until he retired. James gave his life to Jesus and had a great love for his church, wife, family, and friends. He was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church of Comanche. The one thing everyone agreed on is the party never started until James got there, so they must be having a really good time in Heaven right now.
Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rex Craig, and sisters Joy Mock, Maxine Thomas, and Gail Hunn. He is survived by his wife Pam of Belton, step sons Jesse Shaffer and Daniel Lock, bothers Don Craig and Dale Craig, and sisters Madonna Patton, Charlene Patton, Lawana Russell, and Carol Jones. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Alysa and David, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
