Thea Rose (Fry) Vaca, 53, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in the presence of her family at home in Salado.
Thea was born on August 18, 1964 in Howell, Massachusetts, the daughter (second child) of Morley P. Fry and Theakla (Kleinschrodt) Fry. She grew up in Wurzburg, Germany. After she finished high school and an apprenticeship for logistics administration, she followed her heart and left Germany to settle in Kempner, Texas. Thea married Simon P. Vaca on August 3, 1996 and was a loving mother to Cheyene Summer Vaca, born on February 27, 1998. She turned into a real cowgirl, loving her dogs and horses, and even barrel racing for a few years. Thea devoted much of her time to the support of her daughter Cheyene as she excelled in softball and volleyball. No destination was to far away too watch her baby girl grow into an excellent volleyball player. Thea began her working career in November of 1990 with Wilsonart in Temple, quickly rising within the company to her current position as product technology manager.
Mrs. Vaca was preceded in death by her father Morley. She is survived by her husband Simon, daughter Cheyene, mother Theakla, brother Ricky and family.
