Funeral services for Thelma L. Thrasher, 91, of Temple, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 13, 2017 at Crossroads Church (First Assembly of God) in Belton with Rev. Harry G. Thrasher, Jr. and Rev. Matthew Thrasher officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 Noon, Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
The Family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening, October 12, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Thrasher died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in a Temple nursing home.
Mrs. Thrasher was born June 15, 1926 in Purcell, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Wesley Meredith and Mamie (Fox) Meredith. She married Harry M. Thrasher, Sr. March 14, 1947 in Gainesville, Texas. The couple moved to northern California where they lived for many years before moving to Texas. Mrs. Thrasher was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Belton. She was a church volunteer and enjoyed Sunday School and all the activities the church had to offer. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Yahtzee.
Survivors include her husband Harry M. Thrasher, Sr., of Temple; one son Harry G. Thrasher, Jr. and wife Carol of Salado; daughter Carolyn Marlene Cary and husband Richard of Wildomar, California and one brother Dale Meredith of Amarillo; four grandchildren, John Thrasher, Matthew Thrasher, Greg Weir, and Richard Cary; 10 great grandchildren.
