Paul Handley

November 6, 1924 — October 14, 2017

A visitation for Mr. Paul Handley, 92, of Belton, will be held Thursday evening, October 19, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.   The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.

Mr. Handley died Saturday, October 14, 2017, in a Belton nursing home.

Mr. Handley was born November 6, 1924, in Parrish, Alabama, the son of William Major Handley and Lila Mae (Key) Handley.   He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Mr. Handley married Betty Studdard, September 1, 1956 in Parrish, Alabama.  They made their home in central Texas in 1979.

Mr. Handley worked for many years for the McWane Cast Iron Pipe Company in Birmingham, Alabama, retiring in 1986 as the district sales manager.   Later he worked for Armstrong-McCall Beauty Supply in Killeen.

He was a long time member of the Belton Church of Christ.

Mr. Handley was preceded in death by one grandchild, Alax.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Handley of Morgan’s Point Resort; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Sheri Handley of Houston and Todd and Tamara Handley of Midlothian; two sisters Pauline Nesbitt of Georgia and Norma Stephens of Alaska; two grandchildren, Lauren and Holly; and two great grandchildren Jaidan and Nolan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home or the Medina Children’s Home.
