A Memorial service for Tommy Lee James, 70, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-7 PM Friday evening at the funeral Home.
Mr. James died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at his home in Belton.
Mr. James was born July 11, 1947 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas Atwood James and Catherine Maybell (Clark) James. He was a 1967 graduate of Belton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. James married Donna Forrest, in 1970 in Belton. He worked for Bell County Road and Bridge Department for more than 20 years, retiring in 2011. He was a member of the NRA and the American Legion. He also coached girls’ softball tournament teams for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife Donna James; son Dusty James; three daughters, Tommy Dean “Cissy” James, Jennifer Lee James and Kayla D’Laine James and son-in-law Cody Wingo, all of Belton; two grandchildren, Bliss James and Jasper Lee James; and two great grandchildren Cooper Robert Wingo and Kaylee D’Laine Wingo.
He was a loving husband, dedicated dad, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and most of all the Master ATM.
