Services for Billy Jack Weaver, 88 of Temple will be 1 PM Friday January 5, 2017 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with reverends Kerry Sharp and Tim Foster officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
Mr. Weaver passed from this earth to his heavenly home on December 29, 2017 at his home in Temple.
He was born September 2, 1929 in Elmo, Texas to John Alvy and Eva Octavia Coffman- Weaver. He married Ida Merline Yates on September 13, 1951 in Dallas. He served in the U. S. Army from 1946-1952. He was a member of the 82nd and 11th Airborne Paratroopers, his deployments included Korea.
He was a member of Temple Christian Center United Pentecostal Church. He was employed for Baker-Hughes-Hughes Tool Company in Houston, Texas for 25 years retiring and moving to Temple in 1989.
His favorite pastime was going to Golden Corral, where all the staff knew him and were his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 49 years Ida Merline Yates- Weaver on March 24, 2001 and a son Melvin Gene Weaver on September 22, 2000.
He is survived buy his daughter, Brenda Johnson and husband Ronny of Temple; three grandchildren, Tammy Sargent of Belton, Chris Johnson of Arlington and Spencer Johnson and wife Wendie of Temple; eight great grandchildren, Dakota , Kira, Trenton, Ethan, Connor, Crysslyn, Mikaela and Ashlynn; a sister, Daisy Layer of Grand Prairie, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Sean with Scott & Whit Hospice for his care and compassion during his illness as well as all of the hospice team.
Services are entrusted to Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.
