Marilyn Rose Ankenbauer

Marilyn Rose (Coleman) Ankenbauer, 82, of Belton passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Park Place manor in Belton.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Mike Dunson officiating. She will then travel home to be laid to rest next to her beloved husband William I. Ankenbauer in Union Cemetery in her hometown of Livermore, Iowa. A visitation for family and friends will take place from 9-10 AM on Monday prior to the funeral service.

Marilyn was born on September 14, 1935 in Livermore, Iowa to the late Wilfred and Ruby (Koepke) Coleman. She married William Ankenbauer on August 2, 1953 in Livermore and they were married for over 57 years before he passed away in 2010. Marilyn moved to Belton in 1984 where she was employed with the Belton ISD for many years before retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Belton and was very dedicated to visiting and sharing time with those in need. Marilyn truly had a heart of gold and was an exceptional cook, winning numerous awards at local fairs. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends and she will be deeply missed.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, sons William Ray and Scott Allen Ankenbauer, and three brothers, Kerry, Ronnie, and Larry Coleman. She is survived by brothers Richard “Dick” Coleman and wife Dee of Livermore, Iowa, David “Dave” Coleman and wife Bonnie of Livermore, Iowa, and Craig Coleman, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the First Christian Church in Belton, PO Box 367, Belton, Texas 76513, or to he charity of your choice.
