Deitra Lynn Hargrove

Deitra Lynn (Vandiver) Hargrove, 68, of Moody passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Temple.

Funeral services for Deitra will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Moody with Rev. Tom Shelton, Bert VanDiver, and Chris Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery in Moody.

Mrs. Hargrove was born in Waco, Texas to J.B. and Gracie (Lasly) Vandiver. She attended school in Moody until her senior year of high school when she transferred to Waco High School. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Mrs. Hargrove then began a 28 year career as an elementary school teacher in Moody. She married Bennie Hargrove on June 24, 1966 in Moody and they were happily married for over 51 years. Mrs. Hargrove was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Moody.

Deitra was preceded in death by her parents as well as a son, Jamie Hargrove in 2002. She is survived by her loving husband Bennie of Moody, sons Chris Hargrove and his wife Vanessa of Temple and Matthew Hargrove and his wife Nichole of Moody, brother Bert Vandiver and his wife Brenda of Granbury, Texas, and sister Karen Vandiver of Belton. Also surviving are grandchildren Wesley Hargrove and his fiancé Alish, Drew Hargrove, Mattie Hargrove, Lauryn Hargrove, and Landry Hargrove.

A visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
