Willie Bee Spillar

Willie Bee (Brittain) Sides Spillar, 87, of Salado and formerly of Austin passed away on Saturday, February 10. 2018 at a Temple care center.

A graveside service for Mrs. Spillar will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Gillum Cemetery near Oakalla, Texas with Rev. Ray Johnson officiating.

Willie was born on August 26, 1930 in Maxdale, Texas to William A. and Sarah Elizabeth (Smith) Brittain. She was raised in the Briggs area and attended schools in Briggs. She graduated from Briggs High School and later received her LVN Certification from the State of Texas in Austin. Mrs. Spillar worked for the state hospital in Austin for many years and later for for the Department of Public Safety in Austin until her retirement. Willie was a member of Spicewood Springs Baptist Church before moving to Salado in 2012.

Mrs. Spillar is survived by her son Bobby Wayne Sides, daughter Beverly Whiddon and her husband Tommy of Hamilton, grandson Randy Scott Whiddon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
