Lola E. "Granny" King

Lola E. “Granny” (Hooper) King, 89, of Belton passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her home in Belton.

Funeral services for Lola will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Roy Brantley officiating. Burial will follow in Salado Cemetery in Salado.

Lola was born on September 3, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas to Frances M. and Lola E. (Adams) Hooper. She was raised in Belton and graduated from Belton High School. Mrs. King married Fred M. King, Sr. on November 22, 1947 in Bell County and they were married for over 70 years before she passed away. Lola was a homemaker and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.

Mrs. King was preceded in death by two grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great grandson. She is survived by her husband Fred Sr. of Belton, sons Fred King, Jr. of Little River and Richard “Chico” King of Belton, daughters Charlotte Benavidez of Belton and Marcy King of Belton, 9 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-6 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
