Richard Clinton Grant, 62, of Belton passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Funeral services for Mr. Grant will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Sam Callaway officiating. Burial will be in Bell Plains Cemetery near Salado.
Richard was born on March 27, 1956 in Orlando, Florida to Lee and Hazel (Baker) Grant. He moved to Chicago as a child where he attended school. Mr. Grant moved to the Central Texas area in 1994 from Houston. He was an electrician and later a quality control contractor for the US Army Corps of Engineers on Ft. Hood for many years. Mr. Grant married Debra Chaney at Lakeview Baptist Church in 1997 where they were members.
Richard is survived by his wife Deborah of Belton, sons Mike Hix of Houston and John Hix and his wife Tanya of Belton, his mother Hazel of Chicago, brother Mark Curcio of Chicago, and sister Iris Colon and her husband Hector of Westmont, Illinois. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Katie Hix, Blake Hix, Billi Jo Rhoades, Sebastian Hix, and Macey Hix, and great grandchild Westley Earls.
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
