Funeral services for Doris Giles Sanders, 96 of Belton, will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Dunson officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sanders died Friday, June 22, 2018 in a Temple nursing home.
Mrs. Sanders was born December 28, 1922, in Belton, the daughter of Harry David Giles and Suzy Lee (Gott) Giles. She was a 1940 graduate of Belton High School. She worked for Southwestern Bell during WWII as a telephone operator. She married James "Jim" Sanders, June 5, 1949 in Belton. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church in Belton.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and one son, David Lewis Sanders in 2012.
Survivors include one son Steven G. Sanders and wife Roxanne of Belton and daughter-in-law Carmen Sanders of Houston; five grandchildren
Kyle Sanders, Lauren Sanders Marx, James Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Kelli Sanders Capehart
and four great grandchildren Olivia Marx, Lyndi Marx, Kylie Sanders, and Lucas Capehart.
The family will receive friends for visitation 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
