Rosa Irene Vasquez

Rosa Irene (Rendon) Vasquez, 87, of Belton passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 29, 2018 surrounded by her family.

A mass of Christian burial will be held for Rosa on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:30 am at Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton with Father John Kim officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

Rosa was born on September 13, 1930 in Austin, Texas to Cornelio and Florencia (Lopez) Rendon. She was raised in Mexico and moved to San Antonio where she worked at a nursing home. She later moved to Bartlett and finally to the Belton area in 1958. Mrs. Vasquez worked for Griggs Manufacturing Company in Belton for 16 years before retiring. She was a longtime member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton.


Mrs. Vasquez was preceded in death by a daughter Maria Vasquez. She is survived by sons Frank Vasquez, Jr. of Belton, Robert Vasquez of Belton, Daniel Vasquez of Temple, and Johnny Vasquez of Austin, daughters Amelia Torres of Belton and Gracie Vasquez of Temple, as well as 21 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will take place Monday evening from 6-7 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton and a Rosary will be recited starting at 7 PM on Monday evening by Deacon Oscar Valeriano.
